Parents who are willing and who can afford taking their children to kindergarten are able to do this only in three of them.

One of the kindergartens that have larger capacity to accept children is the city kindergarten. It currently has 310 children. Kindergarten is opened from 7:00 A.m. to16:00 P.M. According to the director, Shefkije Nimani, conditions at this facility are not so satisfactory, but we are trying to improve them. "It is important here that the care, education, activities and food are of high level, despite the fact that the facility is old one.

Children are fed twice a day and between these 2 meals they have a snack", Nimani asserts. According to her, the demands are quite big, but given the capacity we have, the employed mothers have a priority. The nursery price is 35 euros, but there are discounts for social cases and war invalids.

V.T. a parent, who has two children in the city kindergarten says: "I am satisfied with the care the kindergarten staff provides, although conditions are not so good, but there is as well a good opportunity, since Ive two children in the kindergarten and for second child I pay less.”

Mitrovica this year was enriched with two other private nurseries, as another possibility for those parents wishing to send their children there. These are nurseries "Fjolla"(Snowflake) and “Vogëlushët”(Toddlers).

Unlike the citys kindergarten, both private kindergartens’ nurses are veiled, which make them different from those of city’s nurses. But, according to the staff, there is no problems with other two nurseries, because, all our citizens teach their children the basics of Islam and we do not overleap the framework.

The kindergarten "Fjolla" has a capacity to accept 40 children. Fitore Mripa - Hamza, a nurse, said that the nursery "Fjolla" provides children with comfort, activities and various pleasures. In this garden they learn how to become good people, how to behave with others, they practice the language and speaking, but at the same time they also develop different activities.

Nursery "Fjolla" works from 8 am till 18 oclock.
B.P., a parent, who had come to take his child, says: "I am very satisfied with the conditions, care and food this nursery provides to all children. " As for the veiled nurses, B.P. said: "There is no problem about it."

As for the other nursery the "Toddlers", the manager of this nursery, Arbnora Idrizi, said that here are the best conditions. She says: "Our nursery has the capacity to accept 35 children, who educated and cared in a facility with good conditions. We offer them a comfortable stay, education, food and maximum care." When our team tried to enter the facility, the staff did not allow us to do so.

S.A., a mother, having her baby in this nursery, told M-Magazine: "I have my child in this nursery, because I work and somehow it is convenient to me because my house is in the vicinity”.

Influx and demands for a larger space and better conditions opens the possibility to build such a facility.
Director of Education in Mitrovica, Ali Bejta, told our Magazine: "We have thought such a thing and have allocated a piece of land in the suburbs, but due to the lack of resources it remains as ongoing issue."
