Mitrovica - KFOR Commander Erhard Drews, said his troops have estimated that the trucks with medications coming from Russia have not presented any danger to calm and safe environment in Kosovo, and therefore have not taken any action against them.

He reminded the troops of KFOR have no mandate to carry out border police and customs tasks and that sometimes "the expectations are greater than what KFOR should do and what not."

In this way he has responded to the concern of the Minister of Internal Affairs, Bajram Rexhepi, who had expressed concern for allowing undisturbed cargo trucks crossing the border illegally from Serbia to Kosovo.

On Monday morning a truck, a shipment from Russia, entered through alternative routes in the border with Serbia, which has declared the medication shipment destined to Mitrovica hospital. Minister Rexhepi had immediately reacted to this. He was indignant that KFOR, the NATO mission in Kosovo, has allowed such a thing, because the truck may have had the weapons. / koha.net /
