Vushtrri- Even during these summer days with high temperatures Vushtrri residents face the problem of drinking water.

It seems the lives of many citizens have become difficult for having problems with drinking water supply.  
Sylejman Bekteshi is just one of many citizens who have been annoyed by this long time problem with drinking water supply. "We have this problem for a long time even though I am paying regularly the bills to the water supply company. We have lodged complaints several times at competent authorities, but have not encountered any understanding, and so far no measures were taken to eliminate this longstanding problem, "he said. 

He said he lived in a collective building near Vushtrri and had no drinking water for 10 days, and each passing day was very difficult to him.Also he said he was very disappointed with the performance of the municipality so far.

"I am totally dissatisfied with the performance of the municipality and if it is not able at least to secure us drinking water what more we can expect from them ", Bekteshi concluded angrily. 
While many people complain that they have no drinking water supply for days, Director of Regional Water Company in Mitrovica, Faruk Hajrizi, says otherwise.  

He said the Vushtrri Municipality is supplied with drinking water as expected and there was no interruption of drinking water supply, despite the fact that they have major problems from drinking water abusers. Any damage could occur to the network but every time they undertake prompt measures in order to eliminate failures in supplying citizens in a schedule as it was provided for water supply.

Bajram Beqiri, director of the inspection, said:  "We have an action plan with the Kosovo police who will take actions in order to prevent the misuse of water, but the problem is that there is no water at all and therefore we have nothing to manage and we do not have request from the regional water supply company to inspect and punish abusers, "he said.
He said the residents of the town are mainly those who have more problems, especially in collective buildings.

Operational Unit Manager in Vushtrri, Driton Abazi, said they have difficulties with every day drinking water supply, and the situation with the supply is very serious. 
He also said there were a number of citizens who at a certain extent abuse the drinking water by watering gardens.
"But we as a directorate are doing our best to eliminate these abuses of the citizens," he concludes.
