Mitrovica - A debate held in Mitrovica reveals that the number of women who have left school is very small, due to difficult economic conditions and transportation, although the Department of Culture, Youth and Sports has a higher budget compared with the municipalities regarding the education of youth.
In this debate organized by NGO "Hand on heart" within the program of " Forum Su " aiming the awareness of the importance of women education in Mitrovica Municipality, it was said that 28 primary and 5 secondary schools, in their management staff have only eight women.
Isa Sejdiu, from the Department of Education and Director of DKRS Artan Osmani spoke about the overall situation in education of youth in the municipality, with particular emphasis on educating women and the problems faced by schools regarding the drop out

Artan Osmani, director of Culture Youth and Sports, said that Mitrovica had the highest budget for the youth sector than other municipalities and their aim was to support projects dealing with informal education according to the local youth action plan”.
Shaha Salihu, principal of the Primary School "Bedri Gjina", mentioned as their success the conviction of two students from the Ashkali community to return to school after dropping it out.
Ferki Beka, principal of the elementary school "Hivzi Sylejmani", said the educational staff must pay attention to the attendance, quality and education of youth.
He said it is to be praised the low number of drop out of school by women, but according to him, they have to work to increase the quality and achievements, since the total number of students has a percentage of students who just pass.
