The result of the experiment was received with skepticism by the scientific community when the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) in Geneva made it public in September last year.

Researchers say they have found a possible deficiency in the experiment, regarding the particles that travel faster than light. The speed of light is considered by physicist Albert Einstein to be the limit of speed, RFE reports. CERN spokesman James Gillis said that the deficiency in the experiment can be associated with a bad connection of an optical fiber that may have had impact in measuring of velocity of subatomic particle called the neutrino. Although there were doubts on the theory of Einstein, the CERN officials say it is likely that his theory on the speed of light to be confirmed as correct.
