Berlin - German Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle and Swedish Foreign Minister Carl Bildt in Berlin welcomed the agreement on maintenance of Serbian elections in Kosovo.
They called on Serbia to remain on the European integration path.
"People in Serbia must take their decision", said Bildt, when he was talking about the upcoming elections in Serbia in May 6th, and adding that of primarily importance is Serbia’s European orientation.
As published on the German Foreign Ministry website, Westerwelle and Bildt met in Berlin and one of the topics of their talks was also the situation in Western Balkans.
Westerwelle welcomed the fact that Serbia and Kosovo reached agreement about elections with the OSCE assistance. Two officials at the same time called on for restraint and responsibility during the elections, states on the German Ministry website.
Westerwelle and Bildt requested from both sides to refrain from unilateral actions. /B92/
