Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic met with UNMIK chief Farid Zarif, who listened the Nikolic's proposal that UN actively participate in further course of negotiations between Belgrade and Pristina.

As press service of Serbian President announced, in "warm and friendly talks" positively was evaluated the role of UNMIK and pointed out that the continuation of dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina should be raised to a higher level and to improve the safety and security. Having in mind the characteristics of all the problems in Kosovo, Nikolic stressed that their solution should be approached in an appropriate way, respecting Resolution 1244.

Zarif in conversation said that he is committing for peace and security throughout Kosovo territory, pointing out that it shall not be tolerated any unilateral actions, according to the statement. Nikolic pointed out that he will never recognize Kosovo independence, adding that soon will quickly come out with a plan, about which they expect a consensus of all relevant political and other factors. According to him, in that process must be involved and the Serbian Parliament, respecting the Constitution, as the highest law, transmits Kim radio
