Pristina - Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Kosovo, Sasa Rasic, said that more than a thousand Serbs have submitted applications for re-registration of their vehicles, and instead of Serbian plates to receive Kosovo "KS" and "RKS" plates.
Rasic said that the competent committee as of Monday will begin reviewing applications for issuing Kosovo license plates and driving licenses.
"The deadline for re-registration will be extended; applications will be accepted, and the committee will review applications for vehicle re-registration." Rasic told Tanjug, the Serbian news agency.
Within the additional time they could re-register vehicles that were registered until November 15, 2011, and as for vehicles registered after this date the customs clearance will be paid in Kosovo Customs
And when it comes to northern Kosovo, where the license plates continue to be issued by the Serbian MIA in acronyms of Kosovo cities, the Kosovo Interior Ministry officials say that the EULEX is responsible for this part of Kosovo to implement the agreement reached in Brussels related to this issue, Koha reports.
