Zvecan – The Representatives of the election commissions of the municipalities Zvecan and Zubin Potok, today have announced the final results of the local elections in two municipalities held in May 6th, and most votes won DSS and URS with.

In the municipality of Zvecan DSS won 1 367 votes respectively 10 seats, URS with 1 023
votes won 7 seats, the Coalition SPS-PUPS-JS won 556 votes respectively 4 seats, meanwhile to
each were given 3 seats, SRS won 394 votes and SNV won 516 votes.
From 7.864 registered voters, came out 3 862.
In the municipality of Zubin Potok DSS won 1 891 votes respectively 21 seats, SRS won 822
votes respectively 9 seats and URS won 172 votes respectively 1 seat. Out of 4 798 registered
voters came out 2 974.
Mayor of Zvecan Dobrosav Dobric stated in a press conference that the commission within 10
days will allocate the seats to council members and chairmen of the Assembly shall call the old
convenes to inaugural municipal assembly sessions of Zvecan and Zubin Potok in the first half
of June. He added that previous coalitions will still be in government in these municipalities.
Dobric expressed his hope that there will be no introduction of temporary administration in
municipalities of Zvecan and Zubin Potok, because for this, he said there is no legal basis. On the
question of what would he do if Belgrade however would introduce temporary Counsels in Zubin
Potok and Zvecan, Dobric answered "it is normal that we will respect every official position of
our state".
In the municipalities’ of Zvecan and Zubin Potok on Sunday were held local elections
although their maintenance was not supported by official Belgrade, Pristina and one part of the
international community. Elections in these municipalities have not been implemented by unique
electoral list, but under the old electoral roll that had the responsible in Zvecan and Zubin Potok.
Votes were counted on the voting places, not like the Presidential and Parliamentary elections, in
Raska and Vranje.
