Mitrovica – Kosovo Assembly women members and women members of the Municipal Assembly of Mitrovica respectively the group of assembly women that was recently established, discussed Tuesday on Empowerment of women in decision making, taking the promises of the managers of this municipality for support in this regard

"I think this initiative in Mitrovica is something that makes us happy because we can see the concerns of women in decision making processes, and I think women should give their opinions on these processes," the mayor, Avni Kastrati, said.

He has vowed to be in full support of this group and will cooperate in order to organize them better and to represent the interests of all women in the municipality. 

Even the Mitrovica Municipal Assembly speaker, Rrustem Musa, has provided support to women who will take initiatives, believing that women's empowerment in decision making is an indicator of democratization and emancipation of a society.  

Director of USAID / DEMI, which supports the formation of a group of women, Ginka Kapitanova, on this occasion mentioned women's groups that were established in Suha Reke, Decan, Gjilan

Women's group leader in the Kosovo Assembly, Teuta Sahatqiu, congratulated the municipal assembly members for establishing a non-party group. At the same time she spoke about the initiatives and the work of women's group that she leads.

Kosovo Assembly member, Flora Brovina, spoke of the importance of engaging women in decision-making process, and as well Vjosa Osmani who talked about a challenge of functioning of the group, change of mentality for the advancement of women ..

On the other hand, the head of a group of women in Mitrovica Assembly, Afrodita Vatovci , though she assessed overdue initiative to establish the group, said it would be a powerful voice in case the failure of the Law on Gender Equality in this municipality 

In this round table also spoke Drita Kadriu, the adviser of the minister of education, and female assembly members from the Municipality of Vushtrri.
