Drews: The barricades should be removed
Mitrovica - The barricades on the main bridge is a strong political symbol and such symbols are not reasonable to be removed by force said KFOR Commander Erhard Drews during his meeting with the Mitrovica Mayor, Avni Kastrati.
"I feel the barricade as on the main Iber Bridge embarrassing , because it has the character of the separation of one city, which in fact is not separated", said Drews.
According to him, the barricade in Mitrovica should be removed as soon as possible. But, he didn’t give details for KFOR tactical strategy on the issue of the determination for removal of several barricades at the beginning by KFOR and then termination of that determination
After the meeting with the Mitrovica Mayor, Avni Kastrati, Drews said that Kosovo and Serbia need to implement and realize the agreements that have been reached in Brussels, before signing of new agreements.
