Interior Minister Bajram Rexhepi, together with the Deputy Prime Minister of Kosovo, Slobodan Petrovic at the press conference, explaining the Kosovo government regulations resulting from the agreement on freedom of movement, said with the subsequent period of vehicle re-registration the Kosovo institutions made a concession to Serbs.

Rexhepi stated that owners of cars with old Serbian license plates, unless for they have proper documentation, will be able to subsequently register on KS or RKS plates. As he says the deadline was extended for pre-registration, but not and for their involvement in traffic.

"Committee of experts will be established throughout Kosovo territory. We will give maximum period of seven days that citizens apply. Those who meet the criteria without any problems shall obtain license plates".Asked by journalists what will happen to those who do not want to re-register their vehicles in KS and RKS, Rexhepi said:

"They can use the old Serbian plates as a souvenir in their house, and that their vehicles in their backyard serve as a roost", said Rexhepi.
Rexhepi said that the Kosovo Government Decree on the Prohibition of Serbian plates in force and in northern Kosovo, regardless of what he described as "the manipulation of  Borko Stefanovic and other politicians".

He although stated that the confiscation of plates in that part of Kosovo is left to EULEX.Petrovic said that has no mandate to force anyone to make re-registration, but to provide the same rights to everyone, whether they are citizens in the northern or southern Kosovo.

The deadline for the replacement from Serbian in Kosovo driver's license is op to September 1 st, according in Kosovo Interior Ministry.Rexhepi said that citizens can, enclose a copy, and they can keep the Serbian driver's license, and that in case of violation of regulations from Ministry of Interior officials have the right to complain to this ministry, transmits Kim radio.
