The number of children residing in kindergarten is increased

Mitrovica - The number of registered children in Mitrovica kindergarten compared with last year is increased approximately 30 percent, which means that this year kinder garden will have approximately 600 children. Considering that the number of the children compared with last year increased by 25 to 30 percent will be accepted more than capacity of the facility. However, in this institution point out that no one from child will be left unregistered in current school year, that will try to satisfy the parents demands, but they also ask for understanding and that if they are planning that their child start to go in kindergarten next year, that the application for registration to perform until August 24th and to do the reservation in order that the child shall have his place.
The additional registration will not because last year, they had big problems with parents who come during the whole year and requested that their child is registered. Last 7 years the price of services of preschool institution has not increased and it was 3,000 dinars per month. However, because of the euro exchange rate they have been forced to increase the cost of service on July 1st at 4 thousand. This is slightly enough to cover basic expenses while municipal assembly subsidized the remaining 70 percent of the funds as needed that this nursery could function.
The children parents who are attend or will begin to go in kindergarten respond differently to the price increase. The ones with deeper pockets consider that this is not big expense, while those with lower incomes, especially when it comes to people who are working in private sector, which includes that their job is not secure, consider that the price should not stay the same but it should be lower Radovan Petrovic has two children. He says that outlay for kindergarten represents considerable problem but they have no other option "My son is in kindergarten since last year, the daughter starts this year.
The problem is that wife and I work in private sector, salary is not good and nobody can guarantee that we will remain in such jobs because boss can always fire us. But, no one to can babysit our children so we manage it somehow, as it must have money for food, thus we must have for kindergarten", he said. Marijana Savic on the other hand has better financial situation considering that she has one child, expense is lower. "My husband and I have solid salaries so that even if cost of payment is increased for kindergarten it does not represent a problem. But I understand that is much larger number of parents with lower incomes and with two or even three children. When you gather this, if you do not have high incomes is really difficult", she said.
Preschool Institution Danica Jaramaz has the support of local government. However since this is the most particularly vulnerable population, and that this is a large number of children, over 500 youngsters will reside in the kindergarten, in this institution are hoping that the Ministry of Education and the Office for Kosovo will help them to expand the existing facility and provide a sufficient number of workers in order that education which is carried out to have higher quality and better.
