Mitrovica- Many young people from Mitrovica of different communities had the opportunity to make and treat different films and documentaries dealing with social and very relevant topics in the Mitrovica region.

"Outdoor cinema at Iber River” already has become a traditional activity that promotes local artists and as well the European cinematography.

On June 7, 8 and 9 the "7 Arts" organized for the fourth time the "Outdoor cinema at Iber River”. Unlike previous years, this year films were shown in two locations: in the promenade "Quay" near the main bridge, and in the yard of City Museum.

In the promenade called "Quay" were performed feature –length films for three consecutive days, whereas in the city Museum were shown short films produced by foreign and local authors. New documentary film makers were promoted in the framework of the program, in which for the first time were performed nine short films produced in a workshop for the documentary film Doko Yomi (Documenting Kosovo's Youth in Mitrovica), and as well as many special guests.  

24 young people from different communities in Mitrovica have developed their ideas in realization of their first documentary films in which they treated topics such as freedom of movement, dealing with insecurity in the northern part of the city and other social issues intended to advocate toward institutions.

Thanks to cooperation with the new network of European cinema and short films platform, "Daazo", it was planned the same films to be performed in various states of Europe in order to prompt the European public awareness about the situation and the lives of Mitrovica young people. ""Outdoor cinema at Iber River” will undoubtedly continue its journey as a summer activity that aims to promote young artists in the field of cinematography. 

"Locked" and active, this was the closing message of "Outdoor cinema at Iber River”.
Realization of this "Outdoor cinema at Iber River” and "DOKO  YOMI" is supported by the Norwegian Embassy, DKRS-Municipality of Mitrovica and the "Culture For All".
