Mitrovica – It seems street vendors are put to an end. Apparently municipal inspection took a job with greater seriousness.

There have been some weeks they are in the streets “on duty” with the police assistance in order to prevent this phenomenon. This persistent action of the inspection raised a respect of the citizens of Mitrovica, as they say, for prevention of the sale of vegetables on sidewalks and in bad hygienic conditions. Ajet Ferati, a citizen, hopes that the decision will be respected and that the street vendors would realize that they hamper by selling here and there. "I wish the police and inspection keep it under control. There is enough space in the marketplace. Pedestrians and vehicles can move easily now, "he says. Street vendors think differently. They complain that the marketplace is far from the city and the citizens do not frequent it so. M. Ismaili, a vegetable and dairy products seller, expressed his dissatisfaction with the decision. "By this decision and control our business went down. The marketplace is not visited much, because people find it very far away, "he says, holding up dairy products and moving from place to place in order to sell his products.. Lulzim Zeqiri, director of Inspection, says that in order to establish the order on the streets, market inspectors are surveying every day the situation on the ground, in order to apply the rule set. "It's a decision to keep vendors off the streets. They have repeatedly obstructed traffic and have not implemented any criteria for the sale of foods, like fruits and vegetables, "he said. He also stressed that the decision does not allow vendors to sell on the sidewalks and streets. As a result of it, now it is created a better picture of the city and has facilitated the movement of pedestrians and vehicles. And according to him, merchants have enough space in the city marketplace. "It's a very good space that provides adequate working conditions," he said, explaining that those who trade on the street will be confiscated the goods. Nexhat Dedia, coordinator of the municipal enterprise "Tregu (The Market) ", said the working conditions provided in the city marketplace are very satisfactory. "The market has enough covered stands; it is fenced and paved with cobblestones. In general, the working conditions are very good, adding that dairy products facility is now regulated. "The sale of dairy products is made out of any standard. Now we have a new facility for selling dairy products, which is available to the traders, "he said. Dedia also pointed out that after the measures undertaken by the municipal inspectorate with the assistance of the police; the situation has begun to normalize regarding the street vendors. He added that the marketplace started being used more, and a good habit is being created by the traders, but also by customers.
